NEVADA’S CLIMATE INITIATIVE

The State of Nevada Climate Initiative (NCI), created by Governor Steve Sisolak in 2020, was established to lead the state’s efforts in addressing climate change. As the home for Nevada-wide climate action, NCI collaborates with public, private, and nonprofit entities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to develop innovative solutions to build resilience across our communities and protect our natural resources.

MISSION

To ensure a healthy, vibrant, climate-resilient future for Nevada.

GOALS

The State of Nevada Climate Initiative (NCI) is dedicated to achieving resilient communities that are prepared to successfully adapt to changing environmental and climate conditions. The goals of NCI will continue to expand, evolve, and move in new directions as our State continues to identify new and emerging opportunities to protect Nevada from the impacts of climate change. As part of this commitment, NCI remains focused on reducing Nevada’s greenhouse gas emissions to not only to support the health and well-being of our communities, but contribute to the greater good beyond our state.
